  • Facebook Tip

Hate how Facebook posts your comment when you hit “enter” even though you just wanted to make a line break? Rejoice! Relief is here.

Whilst typing your comment, simply hold the “Shift” key when hitting enter, and Facebook will refrain from posting your comment, and instead create a beautiful line break.

Congratulations. You may now craft multi-paragraph responses to all the people who are wrong on Facebook.

  • If kids are awake, they’re connected (click on the link for NY Times full article)
You’ve got to read this article.
Too true. This study really confirms what I’ve observed while working with kids. There’s an amazing (some would say unhealthy) attachment to their “devices” whether it’s an iPod, phone, or Xbox.
I’ve had kids actually shed tears telling me that they need their iPod on church trips (I’ve discovered that trips are better without iPods and phones).
What’s most saddening about this article is that the kids who spend the most time connected also report “that they were bored or sad, or that they got into trouble, did not get along well with their parents and were not happy at school.”
What would also be interesting is to see how much time adults are “connected” to their devices. Since most work-places seem to involve sitting at a desk in front of a computer, I would guess that the numbers might even be higher.
